How to link customer advance payments to sales orders¶
When a customer pays before you invoice, install Sale Advance Payment (tick it in Sales ‣ Configuration ‣ Settings). On the customer payment, choose the order in Sales Orders: the amount still due is proposed, and the order shows a Payments smart button and the Reconciled Payments Amount. When you post the invoice, add the outstanding payment to it to mark it paid.
