Gantt timeline for Time Off
Time Off Scheduling
Plan time off on a Gantt timeline: see who is away when, spot thin team coverage, and reschedule pending requests by dragging them. Built on Viindoo Web Gantt, with no third-party Gantt library dependency.
Core capabilities
Adds a Gantt timeline to Time Off, so a whole team's absences read as one picture instead of a list of rows.
Status-colored bars
Every time off request is drawn as a bar on the timeline, colored by its own approval status, so pending, approved, and refused requests stand apart at a glance.
Working-schedule-aware shading
Non-working days are shaded per employee, drawn from that employee's own working schedule, so the chart reflects who actually works which day.
Calendar-scoped holidays
Public holidays shade only the rows whose working calendar declares them, so a holiday never leaks onto a row it does not apply to.
Team coverage alert
Each row reports how many colleagues of the same department are away over the same period, against a configurable threshold expressed as a fraction of department headcount.
Drag-to-reschedule
Drag a pending request to new dates directly on the timeline; the chart always commits whole dates, no manual form edit required.
Locked-request awareness
A request the approval workflow has already locked is shown as locked on the chart, with the exact reason Time Off itself gives.
Benefits
Teams stop guessing who is away and when. Coverage, approval status, and rescheduling stay on the same Time Off records your HR process already trusts.
One picture, not a stack of rows
A whole team's absences read on a single timeline instead of scrolling a list, so a manager sees who is away today at a glance.
Understaffing caught early
The configurable coverage threshold flags thin department coverage on the chart itself, before it turns into a scheduling surprise.
Fewer clicks to replan
Dragging a pending request on the chart replaces opening the form and editing dates by hand for every change.
Never contradicts the approval process
A locked request stays locked on the chart and shows Time Off's own reason, so the Gantt never suggests a move the workflow already forbids.
