At a Glance
The facts of Equipment Working Frequency, version 0.1, in one place. Published by Viindoo.
How It Works
Set a rate on the product, receive a unit, and the total accrues from that day.
The running total
A forklift rated at 25 km per 8 hours, starting at 3,120 km, has reached 6,470 km on its 40-hour week - computed, not typed.
The template on the product
Define the rate on the product; each equipment created from a received serial number carries it across.
The machines
The equipment list, each unit with its own working schedule and rate.
What You Get
A working rate per machine: amount, unit and hours it takes
A starting amount for machines that were already in use
Total working computed from the effective date over the equipment's working schedule
Frequency templates on the product, copied onto each equipment created from a serial
Effective date set automatically when the serialised unit is received
One frequency per unit-of-measure category, so a machine cannot count kilometres twice

What This App Does Not Do
Read this before you buy. Everything below is something the app deliberately leaves to another app or to you.
The total is a rate times scheduled working time; correct the starting amount when you take a real reading.
Pair it with the maintenance schedule modules to trigger service at a milestone.
Overtime and idle shifts are not known to it.
Use kilometres, units, cycles or any non-time unit of measure.
Works Well With
Apps from the same stack, built to fit this one:
Maintenance schedule on equipment
The milestones the total is measured against.
to_equipment_maintenance_scheduleWho Should Use Equipment Working Frequency?
Maintenance planner
Sees how far along each machine is without walking to it.
Fleet or plant manager
Defines the rate once on the product; every unit inherits it.
Technician
Reads a running total on the equipment form.
Purchasing
Receives a serialised unit and the clock starts on its own.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Equipment Working Frequency do?
A working rate per machine - kilometres, cycles, units per hour of operation - turned into a running total from the day it went into service.
What does Equipment Working Frequency not do?
It does not read a meter. The total is a rate times scheduled working time; correct the starting amount when you take a real reading. It does not create maintenance requests. Pair it with the maintenance schedule modules to trigger service at a milestone. It counts scheduled hours only. Overtime and idle shifts are not known to it. Working time itself is not a valid unit. Use kilometres, units, cycles or any non-time unit of measure.
Who is Equipment Working Frequency for?
Maintenance planner: Sees how far along each machine is without walking to it. Fleet or plant manager: Defines the rate once on the product; every unit inherits it. Technician: Reads a running total on the equipment form. Purchasing: Receives a serialised unit and the clock starts on its own.
Which Odoo version and editions does it support?
Odoo 17.0 - Odoo Community, Odoo Enterprise, Viindoo Cloud. Upgrades to a newer Odoo series are a separate purchase for that series.
What does it depend on?
It installs on top of: to_equipment_maintenance_schedule, to_base. Odoo installs them with it.
How do I set it up?
Set a rate on the product, receive a unit, and the total accrues from that day.
What works well with it?
Maintenance schedule on equipment (to_equipment_maintenance_schedule): The milestones the total is measured against. Product milestones (to_product_milestone): 250 hours, 5,000 km - the points that matter. Equipment from stock (to_stock_equipment): Where a received serial becomes an equipment record.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes - the Live Preview button at the top of this page opens the module's own screen on a working database.
