Logistics Sales Team
Let your salespeople see the shipments they own - no admin setup required
A small access-control add-on that connects your Sales team to Viindoo Logistics.
Once installed, every Salesperson automatically gains read-only access to the
logistics shipments they are responsible for - viewed right inside the Shipments
screen they already know.
Powering Your Business Growth.
Extends viin_logistics - see its documentation.
What it does
🔒
Automatic shipment access for every Salesperson
Installing this add-on grants the Salesperson group access to the Logistics
Shipment User role. No administrator has to open settings and assign the
logistics group by hand - sales users are ready the moment the module is in
place.
👁
Scoped to the shipments that are yours
Access is deliberately narrow and read-only. A Salesperson sees a shipment
only when they are its Responsible person, a follower on the record, or the
customer belongs to their own commercial partner. Shipments owned by other
salespeople stay out of view.
Why it helps
‣
Sales flows that reference a shipment just work. Quotations,
orders, and related sales screens that link to a logistics shipment no longer
break on a missing-access error - and you skip the manual group tweaking that
used to be required.
‣
Least-privilege by design. Read-only visibility, limited to a
salesperson's own shipments, keeps your logistics data tidy and each user
focused on the records that belong to them.
See My Shipments, Filtered to You
A Salesperson opens Shipment Management and applies the built-in "My
Shipments" filter - the list shows only the shipments where they are the
Responsible person, complete with Customer, Origin/Destination, ETD/ETA, and
Status. This is the Shipments screen from Viindoo Logistics; this add-on
simply lets the salesperson reach it.

Who it is for
Salespeople
who work alongside a logistics operation and need to
check the shipments they are responsible for.
Administrators
running Viindoo Logistics together with Sales who
want salespeople onboarded to shipment access without repetitive manual group
assignment.
Get started
Add Logistics Sales Team to your Viindoo instance and your sales team gains
shipment visibility automatically. Install it alongside Viindoo Logistics - there
is nothing else to configure.
This is a lightweight companion to viin_logistics - it ships no screen of its own.
It reuses the Shipments screen and record rules provided by Viindoo Logistics, and only
adds the access grant that lets salespeople see their own shipments. Viindoo Logistics is
required.

Note
Extends viin_logistics - see its documentation.
This module adds no screens of its own. It simply gives every Salesperson automatic
access to the logistics shipments they are involved in, so sales-side features that
reference a shipment work right away - without an administrator having to grant
Shipment Management access by hand for every Salesperson.
Installation
This module has no entry of its own under Apps - it activates automatically
("auto-install") as soon as your database has both:
- a Sales-related app that introduces the Salesperson role - typically the
Sales app, and
- the Shipment Management app installed (viin_logistics - see its own guide
for how to install that).
There is nothing to search for or click Install on; once both are present, this
module turns itself on in the background.
Configuration
There are no settings screens for this module. What activates its effect is the
Salesperson's own access level:
- Go to Settings > Users & Companies > Users and open a user.
- On the Access Rights tab, in the Sales category, set the access level to
at least User: Own Documents Only (the standard Salesperson level).
- Save.
As soon as that access level is set, the user is automatically granted User: Own
Shipments in the Logistics category as well - there is no separate step for
logistics access.
Usage
See the logistics shipments you are responsible for
Before this module, a Salesperson had no Shipment Management menu at all. Now,
any user with the Salesperson access level described above can open it and see the
shipments they are involved in.
Go to Shipment Management > Operations > All Shipments. The list shows only
the shipments this user is allowed to see under the User: Own Shipments access
level (see the Shipment Management guide's Configuration section for exactly which
shipments that covers).
Click My Shipments in the search bar to narrow the list further, to only the
shipments where this user is personally the Responsible.
Troubleshooting
I can see shipments I am not personally Responsible for
That is expected: the User: Own Shipments access level this module grants also
covers shipments where you are the Customer, Shipper, Consignee, or a follower - not
only shipments where you are Responsible. Click My Shipments to narrow the list
down to your own responsibility. See the Shipment Management guide for the full
access-rights explanation.
FAQ
Do I need to install this module myself?
No. It installs itself automatically once the Sales Teams feature and the Shipment
Management app are both present - see Installation above.
What exactly can a Salesperson do with this access?
This module only grants the User: Own Shipments access level - the same level
documented in the Shipment Management guide's Configuration section. It does not
change what that access level allows; it only makes sure every Salesperson has it
automatically.
Does this affect users who already have Logistics access configured directly?
No. If an administrator has already given a user a specific Logistics access level
(for example User: All Shipments), that explicit setting is unaffected - this
module only adds the baseline User: Own Shipments level via the Salesperson
group.
