What it does
This module introduces a unified logistics shipment model that acts as the
foundation for all logistics-related operations such as internal fleet transport,
trucking, freight forwarding, multimodal routing and warehousing workflows.
It provides three neutral sub-models — shipment legs, cargo lines and packages —
which can be extended by vertical modules without creating circular dependencies.
Key Features
- Core shipment entity
- Provides a neutral logistics.shipment model for representing shipments, jobs or transport units
- Includes classification by shipment type, responsible user, partners and lifecycle workflow
- Generic legs, cargo and packages
- logistics.shipment.leg defines transport legs for road, sea, air, rail or other modes
- logistics.shipment.cargo defines abstract cargo lines without depending on stock or products
- logistics.shipment.package defines package metadata (dimensions, weight, count)
- Extensible, business-neutral foundation
- Designed for modules such as fleet shipment cargo, freight management,
stock integration and warehousing
- No dependency on stock, sale, accounting or fleet ensures clean layering
- Vertical modules attach their own business logic, relationships and computations
- Ready for future extensions
- Allows multi-leg multimodal shipments
- Supports full shipment lifecycle: draft, confirmed, in transit, done, cancelled
- Tagging, references and planned/actual timestamps for advanced workflows
