Demo video: Fleet Loading Parameters
Overview
This module extends Odoo Fleet by adding loading capacity parameters (volume and payload) to both Vehicle Models and Vehicles.
It is intentionally a base building block: it focuses on storing and synchronizing capacity data, so other modules (TMS, routing,
trip planning, shipment allocation, etc.) can implement their own business rules.
What this module DOES
- Loading capacity fields on vehicle models
- Warning Volume (m³)
- Max. Volume (m³)
- Warning Payload (kg)
- Max. Payload (kg)
- Automatic synchronization to vehicles
- Vehicles copy the values from their Vehicle Model using Fleet's built-in model->vehicle mapping mechanism.
- The values are stored on vehicles and remain editable for per-vehicle overrides when needed.
- Proper numeric precision
- Adds dedicated decimal precisions:
- Fleet Vehicle Volume
- Fleet Vehicle Payload
What this module DOES NOT do
- It does not validate capacity when loading cargo/passengers.
- It does not prevent overloading, auto-assign vehicles, or compute remaining capacity.
- Those checks belong to specialized modules that use these fields as inputs.
