Demo video: Stock Asset
What it does
Bridge between Assets Management and Inventory, so that storable products can become fixed assets through warehouse operations — with full traceability from receipt to depreciation to return.
Key Features
Asset Allocation via Warehouse Transfers
- A dedicated "Asset Allocation" location type and operation type are created automatically.
- Transfer a storable product (tracked by Lot/Serial) to the asset allocation location — the system creates the fixed asset record and the corresponding journal entry in one step.
- Asset Category on the product determines the accounting rules applied to the new asset.
Stock-In: Return Assets to Inventory
- Move a running or closed asset back into an internal warehouse location with the Stock-In wizard.
- The module posts the correct reversal entry (e.g. D.151 / C.211 instead of D.811 / C.211) and creates the stock move, keeping both the ledger and the physical inventory in sync.
Full Traceability
- Every asset carries a link to its Lot/Serial Number, stock moves, and valuation layers.
- Navigate from an asset to its transfer history, or from a picking to the assets it created.
- Landed costs are propagated to asset values when applied to the originating receipt.
Safeguards
- Returns of pickings that created active assets are blocked to prevent orphaned records.
- Lot/Serial tracking is enforced — only tracked products can flow through the asset allocation path.
