One tax code per partner, checked when you type it
Turn on the check and Odoo refuses a second contact with the same tax code - and tells you which contact already has it.
Partner Tax Code (technical name viin_partner_tax_code) is an Odoo 19.0 app for Odoo Community and Odoo Enterprise and Viindoo Cloud, built for sales administrator, accountant, data owner.
At a Glance
The facts of Partner Tax Code, version 1.0.0, in one place. Published by Viindoo.
How It Works
Two steps: switch it on, then let it work.
Turn the check on
It is a setting because switching it on in a database full of duplicates would block saving. Clean first, then enable.
The code is checked as you save
Save a second contact with the same tax code and Odoo refuses it, naming the contact that already carries the code.
Read the list by code
The tax code is searchable, so finding the existing record before creating a new one is one search.
What You Get
A per-company setting: check the tax code for uniqueness, or do not
When it is on, the duplicate is refused and the existing contact is named
Child contacts of the same commercial partner are allowed to share the code
The tax code stays Odoo's own field - nothing is duplicated or replaced
More Screens
Everything below was taken on a database seeded with real business data, on this series - not a mock-up and not a screenshot from an older version.

What This App Does Not Do
Read this before you buy. Everything below is something the app deliberately leaves to another app or to you.
Uniqueness is checked; whether the number is a valid VAT registration is Odoo's own VAT check or your localisation's.
Existing duplicates stay until you merge them with Odoo's own tool - which is why the check is a setting.
No cleansing, no external lookup, no enrichment.
Works Well With

Partner MultilingualWho Should Use Partner Tax Code?

Accountant
Invoices one legal entity once.
Data owner
Turns the check on after a clean-up, not before.
