Frequently Asked Questions
What does Manufacturing Standard Consumption Analysis do?
The production cost analysis gains a Standard Quantity column per material and by-product, taken from the BoM standard on each order.
What does Manufacturing Standard Consumption Analysis not do?
It adds a column; it does not add a variance line. Standard cost variance stays with your accounting method. It shows quantities, not a standard price. Unit cost is the actual valuation. Orders without standard-consumption lines show zero. Orders created before the standard module was installed have no standard. Nothing to configure, nothing to switch off. It is a bridge between two modules.
Who is Manufacturing Standard Consumption Analysis for?
Cost accountant: Separates a price variance from a quantity variance. Production manager: Sees which materials ran over standard on which orders. Controller: Reads standard and actual in one table instead of two reports. Management: Gets the explanation with the number.
Which Odoo version and editions does it support?
Odoo 18.0 - Odoo Community, Viindoo Cloud. Upgrades to a newer Odoo series are a separate purchase for that series.
What does it depend on?
It installs on top of: viin_mrp_account, viin_mrp_standard_consumption. Odoo installs them with it.
How do I set it up?
Open the production cost report and drill into a product.
What works well with it?
MRP standard consumption (viin_mrp_standard_consumption): Where the standard comes from. Manufacturing accounting (viin_mrp_account): The production cost report itself. Production cost allocation (viin_mrp_landed_costs): Labour and overhead on the finished goods.
