Steps to configure scrap orders in Viindoo

In the production and business process of a company, there might be situation where some products are damaged and not up to the standard (in terms of size, quality, expiry date, etc.), which must be eliminated to ensure the overall quality.

Viindoo Manufacturing app assists users in managing scraps by generating quantity statistical data, traceability, and the moment that materials, semi-finished and finished products are transformed into scraps.

How to make a scrap order from the Scrap Menu

In the Manufacturing application, here are steps we can do to successfully make a scrap order: navigate to Manufacturing > Operations > Scrap, select Create to create a new Scrap Orders.

Then, fill in the following necessary information:

  • Product: choose the product that needs to be scrapped;

  • Quantity: the number of products to be scrapped;

  • Source Location: the current storage location of the chosen product;

  • Scrap Location: the location configured to store the scrapped products;

  • Source Document: the document which refers to these scrap orders, could be the manufacturing order reference, quality inspection documents, etc.

Note

  • By default, the Source location is the current warehouse of these products and the Scrap location is the Virtual Locations/Scrap.

  • For the Virtual Locations/Scrap, you can configure accounting accounts to record the scrapping costs of these products. Navigate to Inventory > Configuration > Locations, remove the Internal location, choose the Virtual Locations/Scrap, and set up accounting accounts for the Stock Valuation Account (Incoming) and Stock Valuation Account (Outgoing) fields.

Then select Save and Validate.

Once the order is validated, the scrap order status is changed to Done. You can track the movements of the scrapped products by clicking on Product Moves.

Here is some information that we can track:

  • Date of scrapping this product (Date column);

  • Reference of Scrap Orders (Reference column);

  • The scrapped product (Product column);

  • The locations where the scrapped product is taken from and moved to (From & To column);

  • The quantity of scrapped products (Quantity column);

  • Status of the scrap order (Status column).

Create a Scrap Order from Manufacturing Order

In the interface of Manufacturing orders, the components and finished products which are completed but do not meet the quality standard can be scrapped by the responsible.

Navigate to Manufacturing > Operations > Manufacturing Orders, select the manufacturing order related to the product which you want to move to the scrap location.

From the interface of Manufacturing orders, choose Scrap.

Then, you will be redirected to the interface to fill in the information about the product and scrap it from manufacturing operations.

Here, you can fill in information for the scrapped product similar to steps to create a manual Scrap orders and choose Done to transfer the selected product to the scrap location.
